OMG, amazing +3!
Distant Worlds II made its way from Japan to Toronto! If you didn't already know, Distant Worlds an orchestra that just performs music from all Final Fantasy series. This is the second series, so "more music from Final Fantasy"!
I got my Balcony ticket for $70. There was $30, 70, 110 and 150 :O. I would go do $150, if only I found a partner who's willing to fork out $150 :P! Though, $150 is the see Nobuo Uematsu price! You get to meet him after :D (Now sitting down writing, I wish I saw him....)
Lets head over to souvenir area and lineup! Got myself some CD's! Here's the back of the $20/each CD. They had T-shirt for $15, signed poster (quite small, I'd say 12" x 18" eyeballing it) for $15. They were hot sell!
It was quite packed, well at least the Balcony (which was where I was). Nobuo Uematsu was sitting at the front watching. His had a long white hair wig, making him the easiest person to spot :P. (Um... what?)
Performed by the Kitchener/Waterloo Symphony, they really put up an amazing performance. This was tonight's program (sadly, they don't have a paper-form program available, not even for purchase) '.'. Though a few changes. They took out FFIX's Melodies of Life. For FFXIV, they replaced the Twilight Over Thanalan (Initial Trailer Music) or Beneath Bloody Borders (battle music) with Navigator's Glory - Limsa Lominsa's theme, the FFXIV's version of Chocobo song as well as um.. hard to describe but its the "FFXIV Alpha OST" 17 song (lol). Yes, I fail to catch the name of that song (and not having a program doesn't help ; ;)
The next one in the NA side will be in Chicago. See those surprises? Well for us, it was the FFXIV music surprise!
I really enjoyed it. The live music coupled with the animation playing above really made a lot of people giggle - that's if you play that series of Final Fantasy. The music was in sync with the music for the most part. FFXIV was a little weird, all they did was edit various portion of the initial cut-scene, rearranged it and that was it. Still enjoyable!
Point and Shoot isn't the best thing. Really, the music sounds 1000x better live, so don't let this discourage you from going to the next one near you! This is just to give you an idea.

You might ask WHY was here wearing a white wig? It's because, he joined the Choir singing along for "One Winged Angel" from FFVII, just to blend in with the choir. But no, he didn't really sing lol. The conductor just DRAG him to the back, gave him scores and there he goes, singing along for One Winged Angel. (just imagine..... lolz)
So want more? Well, they are releasing a DVD version of their orchestra live performance this coming January! Cam's are bad (the sound especially - -) :x so I can't wait to get the DVD version :O!
