Obviously its not iPad/iPhone having FFXIV installed, its actually a remote desktop that connects to a home PC, which is already running FFXIV/Logged in.

Rather if FFXIV is playable in that state or not is a good question. Streaming like that over 3G would be one hella data consumption (though, WiFi might be okay). However, I wouldn’t mind whipping out an iPad, login to FFXIV just to check AH, make a few purchase and chat with linkshell members. Nothing like doing quest or fighting that’s probably a little too much in latency anyway.

Do I know which app/program? Nope! My apple GF tells me it’s TeamViewer. Or is it? I don’t know anyone know?

10 Copies of FFXIII + PS3 for FFXIV Beta Keys? Really?!

I know we are all waiting for the beta; desperately wanting to be one of the few to have a first hand experience of SE’s newest Final Fantasy MMO. Some may have signed up many times, and there are others who may have taken it to another extreme. This man? Went and bought 10 copies of FFXIII just for the FFXIV Beta Keys. Basically, ensuring he is able to obtain a beta key. Check out the screenshots to the right.

I have to say, if I were SE, I’ll let him get a copy right away! Now that’s dedication lol!

Not only that, he got the exclusive FFXIII PS3. All that, total to a rough cost of 1400 USD. (I wish I got that kind of money to blow on Beta keys).

Now here’s the kicker. I thought you can only register once? Well I guess he got 10 email accounts, 10 address and 10 names. I didn’t think he knew when he bought all that… well ‘~” that might pose a problem now! I wonder if he knows even PC gets to beta too, not just PS3. He might be quite pissed off when he found out… anyone can sign up for beta tester now ‘.’ and all he got was just… a “special in-game item”.

Anyway, I wouldn’t go to that extent, but would you?

Small (TaruTaru), Medium (Lalafell), Large (Human Body)

So a few piece of fanart surfaced for Lalafella, but one thing I noticed, was artist don’t draw them with the new lalafella body. I was glad I’m not the only one that feels like its a little bit “weird” regarding the new Lalafella’s body model. I’m sure it will be fine after starring at it for a couple of years, but I guess for now its either:

1. Your Reluctant to Change, loves Taru too much or
2. It is actually very weird in general.

So some Japanese did some Photoshop, to see what it looks like to “fix” the Lalafella into a Taru size body. Not too surprise, it looks quite nice!

Obviously it seems like Squeenix already set that in stone so there’s no change, well at least we can customize it. So it isn’t that bad. Well maybe a “Small” will really be in a Taru body but it’d be weird to have Lalafella with such a height difference.

Expanding Customization

With many players that are coming from FFXI, we all know that this so call “PS2 Limitation” was Square-Enix’ bottleneck for implementing better and shiny graphics. The developer’s creativity was held back because of limited bandwidth and memory. With games such as Aion and WoW which provide highly-in-game customizable character, Square-Enix have no choice but to stay competitive by offering the same deal to the FFXIV fan-base. We now have better graphics card anyway, better connection and GB’s of memory, there are no more excuses for having only 16 faces to choose from for a FFXIV lalafalla.

So now that everyone had their chance to customize their “dream” lalafella (with photoshop), lets see what you can “really” customize just from the pictures. (The Top 2)

By comparing just the top 2 (which is FFXIV)

• Eye Color
• Skin Color
• Haircolor (which probably mean hairstyle too)

I’m hoping there will be even a face shape customization, face customization (such as a little freckle), as well as the “default” smile customization. I’d definitely take a sad face like the Male Lalafella

I’d also like to bring up that the nose in the Lalafella doesn’t seem to be as black/brown as before (Comparing Top 2 towards bottom 2). Both are equally fine to me, but I prefer the new one!

FFXIV Enthusiast Customizing their Character!

Have you started thinking about your FFXIV character yet? I haven’t but for those that did start thinking about it already, well here’s some fun. Someone already did some customization on what it can look like, simply with what was released a few days ago. Amazing huh!

It was simply an activity out of boredom for Rowe (Rai on Leviathan), but it definitely bought some laughter for me.

Lalafell with Rainbow Highlights!

Customization was perhaps one of the things I like about FFXIV. However, sometimes seeing a twin in FFXI was rather fun too. It makes a good laugh or a giggle. I didn’t really mind it, but of course options are always good when it comes to creating your next character, in my case my next Lalafella.

According to Square-Enix, you will be able to customize face model, hairstyle, eye and skin are just some of the features you would be able to customize. Perhaps you can add some freckles too?

For those that do know a little bit about Photoshop, you can go ahead and download these files created by Rowe. The customization for both:

• Lalafell and
• Miqo’te

It is very nicely organized into separate layers.

I love customization, but I doubt these would ever be in the customization (A Miqo’te with wrong hair dye). Good for a laugh though!
